German Sebastian Kordel is European champion in Formula Windsurfing and also winner of the Croatian Open. Second is Casper Bouman from Netherlands and third Philip Korczycki from Poland.
Enrico Marotti took 17th place in the overall standings, so he became new Croatian champion in Formula class. Second and third were Vido Jeramaz and Teo Marinović.
On the fifth and final day of the regatta, the wind finally blew and Race Committee called the competitors in the race course. First two heats were won by Philip Korczycki, while Sebastian Kordel took third place on both occasions. Third sailing was very important because German was first, while the Pole was seventh. Last year’s world champion Casper Bouman wasn’t so good in first three regattas but in the last two sailings he was better so at the end he was second.
Congratulations to all competitors!
Until the next year…
Today Race Committee tried to get some racing done and gave two starts, but unfortunately had to abandon both races due to substantially wind shifts and unfair conditions for competitors. After that, fleet was sent ashore because there is no wind.
Tomorrow is last day of the competition, and we start at 9: AM.
After a long day of waiting for sailing to begin, even today, the third day of the Formula Windsurfing European Championships, there was no competition.
Tomorrow’s meeting is scheduled, with the wind and the competitors, for 8 AM.
Second day of the Formula Windsurfing European Championships, surfers were still not able to experience the right wind in Viganj.
Due to the high instability of the atmosphere and thunderstorms in the surroundings, Race Committee wasn’t able to set the course. Tomorrow’s weather forecast announces better weather conditions.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Final preparations are underway and we eagerly await the start of today’s Formula Windsurfing European Championships.
Competitors need only a good breeze, and we are looking forward to see how will the first race pass.
Stay tuned, we’ll have more info!
A special thank you to all our sponsors!

Only one more day to go at ESET NOD32 Antivirus Formula Windsurfing World Championship in Viganj Croatia. And all is still open. The day began as all previous. The breeze came again midafternoon, finaly nice steady 15 knots, for two exciting races of the final series for gold and silver group. In the gold group one win for Arnon Dagan from Israel, and one for Stephen Allen from Australia, but a few more performed very consistent, with the leader of the fleet Casper Bouman from Netherlands capturing a second and a sixth, enough to maintan the overall lead, but with only two points ahead of Gonzalo Costa from Argentina in second place and four ahead of Allen in third place. Saturday 13th of July is the final day of ESET NOD32 Antivirus Formula Windsurfing World Championship in Croatia. The forecast looks good, with nice breeze that should add even more excitement to the already great day ahead of us! Follow the event via Facebook page Bofor Viganj.
One long day today, lot’s of waiting, the breeze was very shifty and patchy, and only the blue group managed to do one race, race 4 of the qualifications. Fleet was split into gold and silver group for the finals, gold group launched twice, but there was no luck with the wind. Casper Bouman from Netherlands is still in the lead, second is Michael Polanowski from Poland and third Arnon Dagan from Israel. Start us tomorrow again scheduled at 12.00. Two more days to go..only two..and all medals still at stake!
Second day of racing at ESET NOD32 Antivirus Formula Windsurfing World Championahip in Viganj Croatia is behind us. Start was scheduled at 12.00, but again it was a game of waiting for the sea breeze. But once it kicked in midafternoon, the breeze was nice steady 15 knots. Gorgeus sight to see the fleet plaining in these conditions. Unfotunately it did not last long, just one race. For the second race of the day it was already lighter, and blue qualification group that has one race less than yellow was not able to finish race 4 of the qualification series. Race committee called the blue fleet to launch, but once the group reached the race course there was not enough wind. After three races Casper Bauman from Netherlands is in the lead with three bullets. Schedule for tomorrow: one qualification race for goup blue, followed by first races of the final series. Start is again set at noon. Follow ESET NOD32 Antivirus Formula Windsurfing World Championship via Facebook page Bofor Viganj.
